 CNAdmin Features Documentation.
Profiles Page Feature Documentation. Non-required fields can be left blank if the user wishes. Any non-required fields left blank will be ommitted entirely when their profile is viewed (Not including when profile is viewed in the Edit Profile section of profiles.php). General Profile Fields- Position - A non-required, variable field that can be used in the website as a means of identifying officers in a gaming team, valued members of a development staff (Such as... oh I don't know, a person coding a CMS?
) , or anything else the site admin wishes. - Real Name - A non-required field to help bring members of the same site a little closer together & help sites feel like communities.
- B-Day - A non-required field similar to the Real Name field, but will eventually be used to calculate age instead of just displaying the birth-date.
- AIM, MSN, ICQ, X-Fire, Skype, Yahoo - The user's usernames on each of these services can be entered into their profile to provide alternate ways for people to get in contact with them. Non-required fields.
- Bio - A non-required field. This field is a place that the user can tell the community something about themselves.
- Character Bio - A non-required field. This field is for CNAdmins which are used for gaming teams, clans, guilds, allegiances, or groups of any nature. This is an area where the user can tell the community about their fictional character and create a history & back story to them.
- Avatar - A non-required field. This field is different, in that it is filled in with a link to a picture on the internet (No greater than 100x100 Pixles in dimensions). This avatar is displayed on their profile page, as well as when they post comments, send messages, and make news posts. It is up to the site-administrator to decide whether something is inappropriate or not. CNAdmin does not, at this time, support uploads for the avatar. Coeus Designs is not responsible if someone else's avatar offends you. If you're that easily offended then you may want to reconsider exposing yourself to the world around you.
- Quote - A non-required field. This field is a small area where the user can speak a little of their mind, be it via a song lyric, a link to their website, a favorite phrase, or anything at all.
Definitions of Authorization Levels:- Basic User - This is the standard low-level user. They can add to a section, but it will require approval of site administrator before it is approved. They can edit their own news posts, editorials, downloads, links, and their own profile, but no one elses. They can only edit their own items that have previously been approved. They do not have permission to delete any items, including their own. Profiles created by this class of user are not considered their item, and are therefore out of their control.
- Advanced User - This type of user is a more regular member of the community, and as such can be trusted to post relevant items without prior approval. Profiles posted by this class of user are not considered their item, and are therefore out of their control, as well must still be approved by a site administrator. They can only edit their own items, but have the ability to delete their own items as well.
- Moderator - This type of user is far more trusted and rare than a standard user. They have the ability to add, edit, and delete any users items in the area they are a moderator in. Items posted by them are automatically approved, and as well they can approve or deny items posted by other members awaiting in que in their section. Profiles created by this class of user are not considered their item, and while they can approve this user to become a standard member if they are a profile moderator, they cannot change any user's authorization levels. Profiles created by Moderators have default auth levels of 1 for all 5 contribution sections, with standard user auth level of 2 - active user.
- Administrator - *USE SPARINGLY!* This type of user is the end-all and be-all of each section. They can approve, deny, add, edit, and delete everything the same as a moderator, but they also have the ability to grant other user's higher auth levels upto, and including administrator of any section they admin to. User must be a site-admin to grant Administrator level to any users, including themselves.
Site User Levels- Inactive User - Inactive profiles are unable to access the CNAdmin system, and as such aren't listed in the standard member list on the public profiles page. They must be approved by a profiles moderator or administrator. Users in "Inactive" status may be on discipline for any reason, so consult the other mods & admins if you are unsure.</li>
- Standard Active User - The standard user, has limited permissions in the profiles section and is most often a regular member who may or may not contribute to any of the other sections. Section Moderators can also be standard users, but they will have more restricted access than a site admin will.
- Site Administrator - Top-end users, usually have high, or total access to most if not all sections of CNAdmin. Trusted users only! The only level of user who can modify all aspects of user profiles, including promote others to admin. By default, profile ID 1 is a site admin, but is a protected user - only profile ID 1 can modify their own profile, no other admins have that ability.
